HE LOOKED AT ME

He looked at me

He saw the truth that I just could not see

He looked at me

He saw the reasons that I was not free

And He looked at me with love

A love I’d never known

Oh He looked at me

His eyes began to show how I should see

To trust not what I thought was right

But what was in His heart

And now I know my life won’t be the same

And now I know I will never love another person

with the depth I feel for Him

I will spend my life never looking back

I will search His heart ‘til I am not afraid

He looked at me

He made me see my life how it could be

He looked at me

I felt His breath of life blow deep in me

Then I knew I could go on

I would not be alone

And now I know my life won’t be the same

And now I know I will never love another person

with the depth I feel for Him

I will spend my life never looking back

I will search His heart ‘til I am not afraid

I will long for Him like a yearning unfulfilled

I will run with Him until He takes me home

All because He looked at me

He looked at me

WAIT

Written by Judy McComb

Based on Psalm 25

To You oh Lord I lift my soul

In You I trust, to You I call -

“Let me not be ashamed”

Guide me in Your ways of truth

Remember not the sins of youth

Release me from blame

For You are good oh Lord

According to Your love remember me

Oh You are the God, the God of my salvation

On You I will wait all the day

Oh You are the God, the God of my salvation

Teach me Your paths and show me Your way

Yes I will wait on You

In confidence You whisper still

the secrets of Your perfect will

to those who fear Your Name

His covenant made known to all

whose eyes are ever on You, Lord

Redeemed to live again

Your ways are good, oh Lord

According to Your will, You prosper me

Turn to me, be gracious to me

I’m lonely and afflicted

Turn to me, be gracious to me

The troubles of my heart just keep on growing

Bring me out of my distress

Free me from this anguish

Guard my life and rescue me

BEAUTIFUL THING

Written by Judy McComb

©2002 Covenant Builders

When I was a little girl my heart would sing

when people took the time to care

I’ll always remember how they made me laugh

I always knew that they would be there

Now that I am grown up I just want to give

back what was given to me

What I didn’t know was that love would come ‘round again

Oh it’s a beautiful thing to be loved

Oh but how much more beautiful to love someone

Both can make you rich

and they can make you strong

So reach out today and make someone belong

We live in world that says that we should take

long before we’re taken from

Don’t let other people come and crowd our lives

There’s only so much to go around

But God knew that some would find it hard to love

those who were given to them

Everyone needs to know there’s a home somewhere

The word of God it says that the love in our hearts

is a sign of how much of God is there

THE NEW DAY

Music by Judy McComb

Lyrics by Phebe McComb

©2002 Covenant Builders

Dedicated to my grandmother Phebe who lived her life

for the glory of Jesus Christ (1900-2001)

This song was written for her 100th birthday

The mists roll gently o’er the hills and far and near

The breezes gently whisper “Dawn is here”

I rise with strength renewed and my spirits are high

For shadows with the night have passed away

What matters tho’ but yesterday the clouds hung low

The sun refused across my path one ray to show

What matters tho’ that it was a dreary way

‘Tis gone and in its place another day

Oh Great Creator of the worlds My Father kind

How I thank Thee for each loving gift

to heart and mind

Oh Great Creator of the worlds I thank Thee

For every blessing scattered on life’s way

But more the precious gift - the new day

For Thy most precious gift - the new day

What matters though at sunset

there fell tears from their eyes

And sighs which told of blighted hopes

did reach the skies

Though moon and stars withheld their cheering ray

‘Tis all forgot when breaks the dawn of day

The anxious watcher smiles to know the night is past

The suffering one rejoices more - ‘tis dawn at last

and those defeated in the last fight they pray

for nobler grace to win in this new day

YOU AND ME

Written by Judy McComb

©2002 Covenant Builders

Will I still want to hear your voice when all of  the people have gone?

Will I still want to raise my hands when no-one  can see?

Will I still want to do what you say when nobody else seems to care?

Will I still want to run when no-one is cheering me on?

I want to be someone who loves

One who is faithful to all that you say when no-one’s around

I want to stand strong on my own in you

I want to know I will do your will when it’s just you and me

Will I still feel the need to pray when Your presence has faded away?

Will I still want to call Your name when I’m not afraid?

Will I still know the wonder of grace when I no longer  feel the shame?

Will I still see know your light when all I can see is the dark?

I want to be someone who loves

One who is faithful to all that you say when no-one’s around

I want to stand strong on my own in you

I want to know I will do your will

When it’s just you and me, when it’s just You and me

I want to be faithful to all that you say when no-one’s around

I want to stand strong on my own in you

I want to know I will do your will when it’s just You and me

WHATEVER IS GOOD

Written by Judy McComb

©2002 Covenant Builders

Based on Philippians 4:8

Whatever is good, whatever is right - think on these things

Whatever I know will not drag me down

Let me keep it on my heart

Whatever is good, whatever is right - think on these things

'cause I know what I think could one day become who I am

Whatever is just, whatever is fair - think on these things

Whatever I know is worthy of praise

Let Your mercy lead the way

Whatever is just, whatever is fair - think on these things

I must see as You see for compassion is found in Your eyes

Lord You know my heart will follow when You call me

Yet at times my mind won't let me see the way

Let every thought obey You Lord, take each captive to the cross

Loose these chains Lord; I want to be free Lord

Whatever is pure, whatever is true - think on these things

Whatever I know was birthed in the dark

Draw it out Lord to the light

Whatever is pure, whatever is true - think on these things

Take my mind from this world  and set it above where You are

Whatever is good, whatever is right - think on these things

NEW WINE

Written by Judy McComb

©2002 Covenant Builders

Based on a prophecy given to my local church

You who have ears listen to the Spirit

Hear the Holy breath of fresh revelation

God is preparing a wine skin that‘s new

The old must come to an end

The anointing is here, the power is here

Now is the time for the call ...

“Come out, come out

You who are weary, whose light has grown dim

Be free, be free

Those in the darkness, salvation is yours

The time has finally come to lay down the old ways

The Spirit - the new wine - is here”

God is calling us to be righteous

God is calling us to life that is holy

He says that He will take our hand

And lead us to the light

He’ll open our eyes, He’ll set the captives free

The time for the covenant is now

A fresh revelation each day, a new vision everyday

When He speaks we will hear

When He speaks we will do

When He speaks we will lay down our lives

When He calls we will go

When He calls we will answer

He hears the cry of our hearts

HEALER OF HEARTS

Written by Judy McComb

©2002 Covenant Builders

Oh I can’t keep it - I just have to say it

You’ve shown such mercy - how it consumes me

Oh, now I see it - the life you have for me

Now I feel it - this peace when you are here

Now I know it - your right hand has a hold of me

I want to shout it ‘cause it lifts my heart to sing

You are the healer of hearts

You are the giver of all that’s good in this world

You’re beautiful

You are the giver of life

The restorer of hope to all who trust in You

believe in You

Oh it just makes me say how much I love You

Oh I can’t keep it - any longer

I just have to say it - what is in my heart

You’ve shown such mercy - so undeserving

How it consumes me

How it lifts my heart to sing

There’s no other name above Your name

No other God so awesome

Your majesty and power overwhelm me

And yet You say I’m your child

You’ll make your home in me

YOU ARE GOD

Written by Judy McComb

I give You my hidden life - now take it to the secret place

I know You'll hide it there under the blood of the lamb

Take me to Your resting place

where Your treasures will all unfold

I long to hear You whisper the secrets

You keep in Your heart

I will praise You for You are God

I will stand on Your truth and Your righteousness

I'll declare to the world that You are the King

Your name is the highest of all

I will praise You for You are God

Your love brings me down on my knees

I will sing all my days because You are Holy

Take me to the throne of grace

Your mercy I know is mine

In times of need I have Your grace

You promise to carry me through

Take me to the heavenly place

where Your name is glorified

I want to sing like the angels

who forever are worshipping You

I will praise You for You are God

I will stand on Your truth and Your righteousness

I'll declare to the world that You are the King

Your name is the highest of all

I will praise You for You are God

Your love brings me down on my knees

I will sing all my days

I will pray all my days

I will give all my days

Because You are Holy

YOUR HEART

Written by Judy McComb

©2002 Covenant Builders

Inspired by the work of World Vision (NZ)

and the prayer of its founder - Bob Pierce

Her sad eyes look at me from the TV

Yet I use the remote to walk on by

The thin little boy in the magazine

Catches my heart for awhile but I turn the page

Another disaster in the news today

Where thousands of people are swept away

For a moment or two I will sigh

Then I turn my back

Day after day they are starving

Children searching for food on a rubbish dump

They will never know what it means to play

They simply work for the family to survive

I don't want to turn away anymore

I want to believe something can be done

So show me Lord what I can do

Let my heart be broken by the things that break Your heart

Let my heart be melted by the fire in Your eyes

Show me how to love like You love

To care enough to cry

Show me how to give like You give

But what I need most of all is Your heart

How many houses were torn down by war

While I sat eating dinner and keeping warm?

How many men did they take from their homes

While I spoke to my Dad on the telephone?

What can be done to erase this pain?

It feels like this madness will never end

Show me what I can do to help them start again

PLEASE DON'T WORRY

Written by Judy McComb

©2002 Covenant Builders

Dedicated to Peter Murphy - friend, father, husband, worshipper

Written for his funeral – May 15th 2001, aged 48.

Please don’t leave me while my heart is torn

Please don’t leave me

I don’t know where You’ve gone

There’s so much I don’t understand

I never thought I’d feel this way

So heal my heart; it’s grieved with pain

and in my final hour I feel afraid

So please don’t leave me, please don’t leave me

Please forgive me - I lost you for awhile

Please forgive me - the dark just hid your face

And my cries drowned out your voice

I simply forgot to call Your name

So now I worship and give You praise

I gladly lay down my heavy heart

So please forgive me, please forgive me

Wait I see an open heaven

Your prayers have made the angels rise

They’ve joined with all the saints to lift their voices

singing “Glory and honour to the Lamb”!

Please don’t worry - I see Him standing there

Please don’t worry - He’s holding out His hand

And He’s saying - “It’s good to have you home

Come now and eat with Me”

Oh He’s so beautiful and oh so tender

His face so radiant and pure

And I will live with Him for the rest of His life

For the rest of His life so please don’t worry

Please don’t worry

TAKE MY HAND

Written by Judy McComb

©2002 Covenant Builders

I find it hard to stand here, to look into your eyes

knowing that you see the real me with nothing to hide

But being in Your presence is drawing me to you

My heart just longs to hear how much You love me

Lord take my hand - I won’t let go

I will cling to You - the strength of my life

I call upon Your Spirit to come into my life

and purify my heart

I will obey and do things Your way

and the Kingdom of Heaven will be in my heart

I now begin to understand the riches of Your grace

The goodness of Your mercy your kindness, Your love

It gives me hope to face life wherever it may go

I’m not afraid to walk where You are walking

THE GLORY OF YOU

Written by Judy McComb

©2002 Covenant Builders

Who am I that You the Lord of Heaven and earth

would call me in to share of Your glory

All I want to do is be near You

So wash me clean so I can stay

Speak - your servant is listening

I humbly call Your name

when I see the splendour of You

Speak - your servant is listening

I long to see Your face

when I stand in the glory of You

Who am I that You call me a child of Your heart

yet I come to You in filthy rags

Change my tainted heart and clean my hands

so I can stay in Your Holy place
