Where do you go to run from the world?
Where do you go to hide?
You can't stand the pain;
You've been hurt again
Just where does your help in life come from?
Come near to God and find Him
Right where you are
Grieve wail and mourn before Him
And let Him lift you up
You quarrel and fight
You want but don't have
Your motives just don't seem right
You run with the world and call it your friend
Then wonder why prayers just don't seem heard
Come near to God and find Him
Right where you are
Grieve wail and mourn before Him
And let Him lift you up
Lift you up
Let Him lift you up
Oh let Him lift you up
Grieve wail and mourn before Him
Get down get down on your knees

Another day is over and I drag myself back home
Check the news see whats on the TV
Hear the message on the phone
I reflect on the day behind me
The things Ive said the things Ive done
I can cope knowing You will help me see the hope and not despair
Evry road leads back to You
Evry road leads back to You
No matter where I go or what I do
Evry road leads back to You
Why are you still with me?
Why are You just always there
When my world falls apart around me?
Why do You love me?
Why do You care?
All I know is Your love is around me
Youre the comfort that I need
Youre the one unchanging factor in my turmoil and my greed
Now my head has stopped
its spinning
And my mind is more at ease
I take time to look at what I have
And the things that Ive received
No other way to say it
Its not luck or just good deed
Youre the one that I give thanks to
You provide my evry need
WHEN WILL YOU LOVE
HIM

Do you love Him?
Do you want Him?
Have you someone to whom you belong?
Most days you know
You can cope on your own
You're strong independent never a care
Your life looks so free
You can live as you please
But are there times no-one sees
Just how lonely life can be?
Oh when will you love Him?
When will you want Him?
How long will you live all on your own?
Tell me when will you love Him?
When will you need Him?
Do you long to have someone
To whom you belong?
You need in your life there to be
Someone who'll love you someone who'll care
You long to be held through the night
Through the pain
But do you look with despair
When you find the help's not there?
Oh why don't you love Him?
Why don't you want Him?
Why can't you see that you live all on your own?
Tell me why don't you love Him?
Why don't you need Him?
When will you need Him?
Don't you long to have someone
To whom you belong?
The Lord up above does not watch from afar
He waits to surround you to call you His own
He'll cancel you guilt
Give you hope still your fear
Oh how He longs to forgive
And to say that you belong
Oh and I hope you'll love Him
I hope you'll want Him
I hope you'll not live all on your own
Oh and I hope you'll love Him
Oh I hope you'll need Him
'Cause you long to have someone
To whom you belong
Oh and I hope you'll love Him
I hope you'll need Him
'Cause you need to have someone
To whom you belong

Ev'ry year we come to the time
When we think on the babe in the manger
How we long to feel as if it was happening now
Do you think that you'd have been wise
And travelled with the best that you had?
Oh tell me would you have sung
With the angels so joyously?
Would you have stood in awe with the shepherds
and have known of the truth in your heart?
If they had knocked at your door
Do you think you'd have made room?
Could He have celebrated His birthday in your house?
Do you think He'd have stayed?
Could He have celebrated His birthday in your house
In your house
there in your house?
We all know He's no longer a babe
And He can't be found in the manger
But by His Spirit He lives in us right now
Can you think when His death
Gave you life and you started over again?
Have you moved on from when Jesus and you first met?
Is He growing up in your life?
Are you growing up in Him?
Would you say you know and love Him more than ever before?
Can He celebrate His birthday in your heart?
Do you think He can stay?
Can He celebrate His birthday in your heart
In your heart here in your heart?
Can He celebrate His birthday here in your heart
Here in your heart?

He made me laugh he made me happy
But so few knew what the laughter hid the hurt and the pain
For years he claimed a faith in a Lord he thought he knew
So much so that people longed to have what he had
But time wore on and the scars they did not heal
The doubts came in and flooded his heart
Oh the questions changed and the answers heard
no longer brought him peace
Oh how quickly he failed to understand
How I wish I could tell him that God has not left him all alone
And how He longs to be as a Father to him
How I wish I could tell him that Jesus will mend his broken life
Not the Church itself not the people within
But the power of the cross
Maybe one day he'll hear
How I wish I could tell him
I wish I could tell him
Many friends and yet she was all alone
She longed to have someone in her life she could call her own
The clock ticked on and she saw her dreams drift away
All she wanted was to have what others seemed to have
Her prayers were sent, were sent to an empty sky
To a God she felt had let her down
Oh the anger came and the tears at night became her only friend
Oh how quickly she failed to understand
How I wish I could tell her that God has not left her all alone
And how He longs to be as a Father to her
How I wish I could tell her that Jesus will mend her broken life
Not the Church itself not the people within
But the power of the cross
Maybe one day she'll hear
How I wish I could tell her
Oh and how many hear but don't understand?
How many see but never perceive?
How many hearts become hard?
They close their eyes
Otherwise they might see with their eyes
Hear with their ears understand with their hearts
And in turn how the Lord would heal them
How I wish I could tell them that God has not left them all alone
And how He longs to be as a Father to them
How I wish I could tell them that Jesus will mend their broken lives
Not the Church itself not the people within
But the power of the cross
Maybe one day they'll hear
How I wish I could tell them
Maybe one day she'll hear
How I wish I could tell her
Maybe one day he'll hear
How I wish I could tell him

Which vine are you attached to?
Oh tell me which vine do you grow on?
Where your branch belongs
Will end up moulding your heart
So won't you tell me
Which vine do you grow on?
Maybe you find that religion's the key
The rules and the code say just how life should be
You think God will honour the things that you do
But don't forget what will please Him is the fruit
That you bear in your heart
Maybe you find that independence's your thing
You don't need God you just draw from within
But what will you do though
When your strength is all gone
And all that you counted on
Is suddenly taken away?
Maybe you find that you really don't care
You go with the flow hey whatever is fair
But one day you'll wake up and find that your life
Is controlled by a force that you never invited in
Oh and Jesus says that He
is the one true vine for you and me
Apart from Him you can do nothing at all
Remain in Him and watch your life take flight!
Oh which vine are you attached to?
Oh tell me which vine do you grow on?
Where your branch belongs
Will end up moulding your heart
So won't you tell me which vine is yours?
Do you grow on the vine of religion or apathy
The vine of independence
Oh won't you please tell me
Which vine do you grow on
Tell me which vine?

Why don't I expect from you?
I run around doing my own thing
How can I expect to know you
When many times I look away?
At times I despair and ask
Why you're not there?
Oh why can't I see?
That You have not left me
And You just long to reach my heart
Oh teach me Lord to ask
To wait and not rush past
To let Your Spirit lead
Why don't I expect from you?
My faith is small and I'm afraid to believe You
How can I expect to know you when I won't trust the words You say
I give You my day then live it my own way
Oh why can't I see
So many times You give me strength
To show I'm not alone
How quickly though I turn around
And claim it as my own
But then the well runs dry
My good intentions die
I know I must believe
I must believe
